 To celebrate another exciting season of Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House, Film4 have set movie fans the challenge of creating film nights in their own backyards.
Prize
The prize for the best backyard screening is an even better night.
The VIP package includes invites to the opening party and screening of Hellboy II: The Golden Army and a night at the 5 star One Aldwych Hotel for two people, plus invites to the screening for up to four friends.
Party planning
A Backyard Screening Guide has been produced to help people put together their film nights in their own backyards. This sets out some handy hints and tips on the equipment needed, how to keep it legal and some suggestions for a themed film night with food and drink to fit the bill.

To set the mood for their backyard screening parties, Film4 are encouraging party hosts to tune in to the official radio partner Galaxy on their night. Listeners can log on and listen to Galaxy at www.galaxyfm.co.uk
Film selection is key, and a wide choice is needed in order to make the right decision.
Entrants can tune into Film4 or order through Channel 4’s excellent film on demand service 4oD. Film4 have also teamed up with Blockbuster to offer an exclusive 6 week free trial of their online DVD rental service, so entrants can pick out their favourite movies to enjoy at home. Enjoy cinema under the stars as Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House returns for ten nights from 31st July to August 9th 2008. The magnificent Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court at Somerset House will once again be transformed into a full-scale open-air cinema with state of the art giant screen, 35mm projection and surround-sound.
The programme opens with a People’s Premiere of summer blockbuster: Hellboy II: The Golden Army, followed by an inspired programme of movie classics and recent favourites. Arrive early, relax and soak up the atmosphere before the film with good food, drinks and DJs.
