 Lewisham College is one of only three London colleges to be awarded the new standard accreditation in employer responsiveness, recently introduced by the Learning and Skills Council.
After receiving a cross-college assessment in employer responsiveness, the College has been awarded the new standard, established to recognise training providers and colleges who can demonstrate responsiveness to business needs and excellence in delivering training.
Mark Cook, Director of Business Development said: ”We are thrilled to be awarded the accreditation as it highlights excellence in the two areas that employers say are most important to them; responsiveness to employer needs and excellence in a particular vocational area.”
Only 26 training providers in the UK have been awarded the new standard that will provide employers with a credible employer-endorsed quality mark. As part of the award, the College has also received additional accreditation for vocational excellence in Information and Communication Technologies.
The new standard will eventually replace several other accreditation's, including CoVEs, as it recognises employer responsiveness across a whole provider, not just specialist excellence in one discipline.
