Keira Knightley
says she had a nightmare audition for her latest film The Jacket as she only just managed
to stop herself vomiting over the director.
She says she was
even more mortified when, having succeeded in overcoming the effects of food
poisoning, she was told by director John Maybury that she was not right for the
part.
But her
perseverance won over as he later changed his mind and cast her.
The 19-year-old
stars as an alcoholic waitress in Maybury''s film The Jacket alongside Adrien
Brody.
She said: "I was
actually filming King Arthur in Ireland when I had to go to London and meet the
director for this and I got food poisoning really, really badly.
"The whole time I
was kind of thinking, ''Okay, don''t puke over him, don''t puke over him!
Please!''
"Then he suddenly
turns around to me and says, ''Actually, I don''t want you in this film. I think
you''re completely wrong for the role.''
"I was thinking,
''My God! And I''ve tried not to puke over you the entire time!''"
